Getting braces marks a new stage in your life. Hopefully, it’s not too scary for you. It’s true that a lot of things change! There are a lot of foods that will soon be off limits, and there are some teeth cleaning routines that will have to change if you truly want your smile to shine once the braces are finally off. So, to indulge a little the day before you get braces, we’ve prepared a little list of things you should do.
There are a number of foods that will be off limits to you for a long time (That doesn’t mean you won’t try and sneak them now and again, but you just might pay the price!). Enjoy yourself! Eat as many chewy, hard, and crunchy foods you can! Do you like popcorn? If you do, eat as much popcorn as you can before the day you get braces (within limits, of course). You know how popcorn kernels get stuck in your teeth now? It’s way worse with braces, not to mention the fact that kernels can pop off your brackets.

There’s no need to change the way you are brushing or flossing the day before braces, so just brush and floss normally. Another thing to keep in mind is that you are going to want to remember what you looked like before braces, so take a before picture of yourself with a wide open smile. Remember to enjoy your day, and imagine your future beautiful, healthy, straight smile.
